Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO

1. What part of the body should we closely relate aperture?
- We should closely relate to there arms.
2. Finish this sentence.
  - The smaller the Aperture gets, the higher the Aperture looks.
3. In your own words tell me how aperture impacts Depth of Field?

Low Shutter Speed :                                                            High Shutter Speed :

1. If you were assigned to shoot at Blue and Gold night, which was earlier this month, what shutter speeds do you think you would have to shoot at the following events that night I would like you to answer the question for the following two situations:

At the beginning while the sun is still partially up and the courtyard has reasonable light
a.) the dunking booth - fast
b.) the food eating contest - fast
c.) the rock climbing wall - fast
d.) someone working at a booth -fast
e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle - fast
f.) the Diamonds performance. - fast
Towards the end when there is no sun and has gotten dark enough that you can't see from one end of the courtyard to the other.
a.) the dunking booth- slow
b.) the food eating contest- slow
c.) the rock climbing wall- slow
d.) someone working at a booth-slow
e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle- slow
f.) the Diamonds performance.- slow
f2.8 - 1/125 sec - cant see background
f4 - 1/60 sec - background is blurry
f5.6 - 1/60 sec - background more visible but still blurry
f8 - 1/60 sec - background less blurry
f11 - 1/60 sec - can see back ground clearly
f16 - 1/30 sec - more clear
f22- 1/8 sec - really clear and easy to see
The subjects are super blurry when the shutter speed is slow. Photographer should increase the speed.

2. List the three settings your camera has regarding setting shutter speed (these are found at #5 on the Shutter Speed website. Explain how each works - DO NOT COPY AND PASTE, use your own words.
-At slow shutter speeds, the people are blocked by the light. It's too bright to see anything.
The photographer could take the photo at a higher shutter speed.
The lowest shutter speed that a photographer can hand-hold is probably 1/4 second.

3. What suggestions did the author make about using a high ISO?
-When there isn't enough light to capture the quick capture the image
