Rules of Photography
Rules of Photography :
1.) Rule of Thirds: Photo placed on the horizontal and vertical lines or their intersection.
2.) Balancing Elements: Two main objects are used to balance each others existence.
3.) Leading Lines: Lines within an image that leads the eye to another point in the image.
4.) Symmetry & Patterns: Using visual equivalence among elements.
5.) Viewpoint: It's the angle from which you take a picture, or the distance from which you take it
6.) Background:
7.) Create Depth:
8.) Framing: A technique used to focus the viewer's attention upon the subject.
9.) Cropping: Refers to the removal of the outer parts of an image to improve framing.
10.) Mergers & Avoiding Them: A merger occurs usually when something in the background seems to “merge” out of or into your subject.
Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO :
- ISO refers to the sensitivity of the film to light. Each film will need a certain amount of light to give proper exposure. The ISO is used to determine shutter speed and aperture settings. Shutter speed is a measure of how long the shutter is open. It is measured in fractions of a second. Aperture is a measure of how large the opening is in the shutter. The larger the number, the smaller the opening.

Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO
1. What part of the body should we closely relate aperture?
- We should closely relate to there arms.
2. Finish this sentence.
- The smaller the Aperture gets, the higher the Aperture looks.
3. In your own words tell me how aperture impacts Depth of Field?
Low Shutter Speed : High Shutter Speed :
1. If you were assigned to shoot at Blue and Gold night, which was earlier this month, what shutter speeds do you think you would have to shoot at the following events that night I would like you to answer the question for the following two situations:
At the beginning while the sun is still partially up and the courtyard has reasonable light
a.) the dunking booth - fast
b.) the food eating contest - fast
c.) the rock climbing wall - fast
d.) someone working at a booth -fast
e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle - fast
f.) the Diamonds performance. - fast
Towards the end when there is no sun and has gotten dark enough that you can't see from one end of the courtyard to the other.
a.) the dunking booth- slow
b.) the food eating contest- slow
c.) the rock climbing wall- slow
d.) someone working at a booth-slow
e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle- slow
f.) the Diamonds performance.- slow
f2.8 - 1/125 sec - cant see background
f4 - 1/60 sec - background is blurry
f5.6 - 1/60 sec - background more visible but still blurry
f8 - 1/60 sec - background less blurry
f11 - 1/60 sec - can see back ground clearly
f16 - 1/30 sec - more clear
f22- 1/8 sec - really clear and easy to see
The subjects are super blurry when the shutter speed is slow. Photographer should increase the speed.
2.
List the three settings your camera has regarding setting shutter speed
(these are found at #5 on the Shutter Speed website. Explain how each
works - DO NOT COPY AND PASTE, use your own words.
-At slow shutter speeds, the people are blocked by the light. It's too bright to see anything.
The photographer could take the photo at a higher shutter speed.
The lowest shutter speed that a photographer can hand-hold is probably 1/4 second.
3. What suggestions did the author make about using a high ISO?
-When there isn't enough light to capture the quick capture the image

Self Portrait and Portraits Part II AND Rules of Photography Part II
TIPS :
1 - If you’re taking photos in a studio, use a mannequin for light testing: Much easier than guesstimating!
3 - If you’ve got a remote trigger, that’s usually a better and more controllable than trying to use the self-timer.

I picked this picture because I will one day try too go somewhere like this and be able too take wonderful pictures just like this man is doing.
I like this photo because just by looking at it says so meany things. I personally would hate too be in a situation like this, especially at there age that they don't anything. I picked this picture because things like things motivate me too do better in what I am good in doing.
Photography self portrait
I like this picture because of the way the photographer made himself look like. I picked this photo because he looks like a very talented and creative photographer when I look at his photos.
I like this photo because I have never seen anything like this. When I first saw it, it kind of creep-ed me out and left me questioning how did she do this. I picked this photo because I like too experience different things when it comes too looking at other photographers photos.
