Photo Manipulation and Ethics

The first day in April is called April Fool’s Day in the United States. In Israel this year, it was simply portrait day for the new cabinet and photographer. Someone from the newspaper used Adobe Photoshop to remove female ministers and replaced them with two men to create an all-male cabinet.  Brian Walski was fired – ironically – on April 1, 2003.  It cost him his job and his credibility. However, few lessons were learned by others.

To me I think that this kind of photo editing is unethical because at the time it could have hurt those women who where in the actual scene. But then it is acceptable because to some people it could have been funny even though it cost him his job it says that many people learned from what he did.

The one to the left is the least unethical because the people making the the TIME magazine were being real and honest with the man to the left and didn't make him seem as mean or as dark.

But the one to the right the people making the TIME magazine weren't telling the truth and they weren't being real. they made the man on the left look more scarier and darker.
